Rajinikanth praises sholay saying that the film became great because of its human connect and emotional appeal.

Megastar Rajnikanth today said that Amitabh Bachchan is his inspiration and guru.
“He (Amitabh) is my inspiration, role model and guru,” said Rajnikanth after the music release of his upcoming mega budget film Robot in Mumbai tonight.
The music was released by Amitabh Bachchan. While the lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire, the music has been composed by Oscar-winner AR Rahman.
The two megastars shared the dais after three years. The last time Rajnikanth was in Mumbai was to show his movie Shivaji to Amitabh.
“We have done films like Andha Kanoon, Giraftar, Hum, and I can never forget the love, affection and care he showered on me,” said the 60-year-old South Indian film legend.
“I have always valued his advise while taking important decisions,” he added.
Regarding Robot, he said he has worked with director Shankar in Shivaji too. But this role was tough and challenging, he said.
Kamal Hassan and Shah Rukh Khan were approached for this role earlier. But I do not know what happened. ‘Dane Dane pe likha hai khane wale ka nam’ (May be, I was destined to get it)”, he said.
Rajnikanth said the film’s budget is about Rs150-160 crore as it was technically very superior. But this alone cannot be the criterion for success.
Citing the superhit Sholay, which will complete 35 years of its release tomorrow, he said it is historic and a megahit film. “It became a hit not because of its budget or multi-star cast. It was successful because of the subject, characters, sentiments and human motions involved,” he added.
Similarly, Robot has an excellent story and characterisation. Mega budget adds to this, he said adding he is extremely pleased and satisfied with the way the movie has turned out.
He said it is the first of its kind sci-fi movie and he is very happy about it.
Responding to Rajni’s comments, Amitabh said the southern star was a true son-of-the-soil.
“I had a long association with Rajni and value him as a friend and colleague. He is truly a son-of the soil who is admired and loved by every Indian,” said Amitabh.
“I admire him because of his tender heart and humility. He is so grounded despite the adulation and fame he has enjoyed throughout his career. Given his humble beginning, Rajni is an example for every Indian. His simplicity, honesty, and down-to-the-earth nature have always impressed me,” he said.
The movie’s director Shankar said that Robot is slated for a September release. The movie is about a scientist who creates a robot which looks exactly like him, he said.
“This is not a Tamil, Telugu or a Hindi film. It is an Indian film because it brings together best creative talent from India and abroad,” he added.

அமிதாப் பச்சன்தான் திரையுலகில் எனக்கு தூண்டுதல், ரோல்மாடல், குரு..இப்படி ஒரு வாய்ப்பைத் தந்ததற்காக இங்குள்ளவர்களுக்கு நன்றி…எனக்கு ஜோடியாக நடித்த ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய்க்கு நன்றி. நான் மிகையாகச் சொல்லவில்லை. சமீபத்தில் நான் பெங்களூரில் உள்ள எனது சகோதரர் வீட்டுக்குப் போயிருந்தேன். அங்கு பக்கத்தில் ஒரு ராஜஸ்தானி, தெரிந்தவர், பெயர் நந்துலால். 60 வயசுக்கு மேலிருக்கும்.
என்னைப் பார்த்ததும், ‘என்ன ரஜினி, முடியெல்லாம் கொட்டிடுச்சே’ என்று பேச ஆரம்பித்தார். நான் ‘ஆமாங்க வயசாகுதில்ல’ என்று சமாளித்தேன். ‘அப்படீன்னா ரிட்டயர் ஆகிட்டீங்களா…’ என்றார். ‘இல்லை, ரோபோன்னு ஒரு படம் நடிக்கிறேன்’ என்றேன். ‘இந்தப் படத்தில் ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய் நடிக்கிறாங்க’ என்றும் கூறினேன். உடனே அவர், ‘ஓ, ஐஸ்வர்யா ராயா… குட். சரி, ஹீரோ யாரு?’ என்றார்.‘நான்தான் ஹீரோ’ என்றேன்.அவர் என்னை ஏற இறங்கப் பார்த்துவிட்டு பை சொல்லிவிட்டுப் போனார். ஆனால் அந்தப் பக்கம் போனதும், ‘அட, இந்த ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய்க்கு என்னாச்சு.. இவருக்கு ஜோடியா நடிக்கிறாராமே… அபிஷேக் எப்படி ஒத்துக்கிட்டார்… அட, இந்த அமிதாப்பச்சனுக்குதான் என்னாச்சு’ என்று கூறியது என் காதில் விழுந்தது. எனவே ஐஸ்வர்யா ராய்க்கு நன்றி (தன்னைத் தாழ்த்திக் கொண்டு, பிறரை உயர்த்திப் பேசுதல் என்பது பெரிய மகான்களுக்கே கூட பிடிபடாத விஷயம். ஆனால் ரஜினி… தனது பலம் என்ன, தனக்காகத்தான் அந்தப் படத்துக்கே மவுசு என்பதெல்லாம் நன்கு தெரிந்தும் கூட, ‘நான் ஒன்றுமே இல்லை. எல்லாமே மற்றவர்களின் உழைப்புதான்’ என்று கூறுவது அவரது உயரிய பண்பின் வெளிப்பாடு! உண்மையில் ரஜினி இந்தப் படத்தில் நடித்திருக்காவிட்டால்.. வேறு யார் நடித்திருந்தாலும் இந்த பரபரப்பும் எதிர்ப்பார்ப்பும் வர்த்தகமும் சாத்தியம்தானா?)நானும் அமிதாப்பும் அந்தா கானூன், கிராப்தார், ஹம் என பல படங்களில் இணைந்து செய்துள்ளோம். அப்போதல்லாம் என்மீது அவர் காட்டிய அன்பு, நட்பு மறக்க முடியாதது.முக்கிய முடிவு எடுக்கும் முன் நான் அமிதாப்பின் யோசனையைக் கேட்பது வழக்கம்.ரோபோவைப் பொறுத்தவரை, ஏற்கெனவே நான் ஷங்கருடன் சிவாஜி படம் பண்ணியிருந்தாலும், இந்தப் படத்தில் சவாலான வேடம்.
இந்தப் படத்தில் கமல்ஹாஸன், ஷாரூக்கான் நடிப்பதாக இருந்தது. ஆனால் என்ந நடந்ததோ… கடைசியில் நான் நடித்தேன். நான்தான் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என்பது கடவுளிந் தீர்மானம் போலிருக்கிறது. அதை மாற்ற யாரால் முடியும்.
இந்தப் படத்தில் பட்ஜெட் ரூ 160 கோடிக்கும் மேல். தொழில்நுட்ப ரீதியாக மிகச் சிறப்பாக வந்துள்ளது இந்தப் படம். ஆனால் இது மட்டுமே இந்தப் படத்தின் வெற்றிக்குக் காரணமாகிவிடாது.
35 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு வெளியான படம் ஷோலே. வசூலில் சரித்திரம் படைத்த படம். அந்தப் படத்தின் வெற்றிக்கு பட்ஜெட்டோ, பெரிய நடிகர்கள் நடித்ததோ மட்டும் காரணமல்ல. படத்தின் கதை, உணர்வுப்பூர்வமான நடிப்பு, அந்த பாத்திரங்கள், மனித நேயத்தை உணர்த்தும் காட்சிகள் போன்றவைதான்.
அதேபோலத்தான் ரோபோவிலும் சிறந்த கதை மற்றும் பாத்திரப் படைப்புகள் அமைந்துள்ளன. அதற்கு உறுதுணையாக படத்தின் மெகா பட்ஜெட் அமைந்துள்ளது. இந்தப் படம் உருவாகியுள்ள விதம், இதன் இறுதி வடிவம் எனக்கு மிகுந்த திருப்தி அளிப்பதாக உள்ளது.

அவரது மனித நேயம், எளிமையை நான் மிகவும் விரும்புகிறேன். வானளாவிய புகழ், செல்வாக்கு எல்லாம் இருந்தும், ஒரு சாதாரண மனிதனாகவே தன் வாழ்நாள் முழுதும் இருந்து வருகிறார் ரஜினி. அவரைப் போன்ற ஒரு சிறந்த மனிதரை, நண்பரை, கலைஞரை நான் பார்த்ததில்லை,” என்றார் அமிதாப்.
இயக்குநர் ஷங்கர் பேசுகையில், “ரோபோ ஒரு தமிழ்ப் படமோ, தெலுங்குப் படமோ, இந்திப் படமோ அல்ல. இது ஒரு இந்தியப் படம். இந்தியாவின் படைப்பாற்றலை உலகுக்குப் பறைசாற்றும் ஒரு படம். வருகிற செப்டம்பர் மாதம் வெளியாகிறது” என்றார்.

Actually my brother marriage on Aug 22. For that i wrote some poet to tribute my brother. that poet fully contains our thalaivar film names.if u give permission and if u guide me i will send it to u.ifu ok then u publish in our thalaivar website.it may give me a full happiness in my whole life. In the Hindi audio launch, he thanked Aish for accepting to act opp. him as heroine. He narrated a real incident. It seems durng one of the shooting schedules (must be foreign location), one Rajathani by name Nandulal happened to know that SS was present in that location and came to meet him. He was about 60+yrs. The conversation is like below (approx translation):
Nandulal: Hello Rajini Sir. How are you? What happened to your hair?
SSRK: What to do.? They have fallen.
NL: Are you enjoying a retired life?
SSRK: I am shooting a film.
NL: Thats good. Thats good. Which movie?
SSRK: Robot.
NL: That's nice.
SSRK: Aishwarya Rai is heroine.
NL: Aishwara Rai heroine! Wah! Thats great! Fantastic. Who is the hero?
SSRK: (bit embarrased) I am the hero.
NL: You hero!! ?? (Nandulal shocked and angry/upset and talks to his family members nearby) he is hero! he is hero!
Rajini then tells that Nandulal was there for about 10mins after that and did not utter a word! He was still in the same thoughts "How Aish can act as heroine to Rajinikanth!" He then left saying "bye, bye". After going out, Rajini could hear his voice telling "What has happened to Aishwarya? What has happend to Abhishek Bachchan? Forget them. What happened to Amitji? How can he let Aishwarya to act as heroine to this fellow!?"

But I have never seen this kind of craze for any Indian actor. He must be doing something extraordinary for people to love and idolize him like this.
