அதற்க்கு முன்பு வெளியான எந்த தமிழ் படத்தையும் விட சந்திரமுகி அதிக விலை போனது. அதை விட சிவாஜி இருமடங்கு விலை போனது. தற்போது சிவாஜியை விட எந்திரன் இரு மடங்கு (அதற்க்கும் கூட அதிகமாக) விலை நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
உதாரணதிற்க்கு ‘சந்திரமுகி’ ஐந்து கோடி ரூபாய்க்கு விற்கப்பட்ட ஏரியா, சிவாஜியின் போது பத்து கோடியானது. தற்போது, எந்திரனில் அது இருபது கோடியாகிவிட்டது. (According to theatrical sources).
எப்படியிருந்தாலும், தங்க சுரங்கத்தை வாங்குபவனது லாபத்தை கணக்கிட்டு கூறமுடியுமா என்ன? எனவே என்ன விலை கொடுத்தாவது எந்திரனை ரிலீஸ் செய்ய திரையரங்குகள் முட்டி மோதுவது இயற்கையே.

வரலாறு தெரியாது உளறிக்கொண்டிருப்பவர்களே… பணக்காரன், தர்மதுரை, தளபதி, அண்ணாமலை, பாட்ஷா, முத்து, அருணாச்சலம், படையப்பா, சந்திரமுகி, சிவாஜி என பாக்ஸ் ஆபீசின் கணிப்புகளை எல்லாம் ஒவ்வொரு முறையும், விஞ்சி வசூல் மழை பொழிந்தவை சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் படங்கள் என்பதை மறந்துவிடாதீர்கள். உலக நடிகன் என்று கூறிக்கொள்பவர்களுக்கு கூட தெரியாத உலக மார்க்கெட்டை கண்டுபிடித்தவர் எங்கள் தலைவர் தான். அவர் படங்கள் போட்ட பாதையில், தான் இன்று சிலர் உல்லாசமாக சென்று தங்கள் காலரை தூக்கி விட்டுக்கொள்கின்றனர். தமிழ் சினிமாவிற்கு FMS என்ற ஏரியா ஒன்று இருப்பதையே அடையாளம் காட்டியது எங்கள் மன்னனே.
சூப்பர் ஸ்டாரின் தோல்விப் படங்கள் என்று கூறப்படும் படங்களின் சாதனை மற்றும் வசூலை - சம கால (ஏன் இப்போ மட்டும் என்னவாம்?) மாபெரும் வெற்றிப்படங்கள் (??!!) கூட எதுவும் எட்டியதில்லை என்பதே நிஜம்! உண்மை!! நிதர்சனம்!!! (போய் உண்மையே பேசுற தியேட்டர்காரர் யாரையாவது கேட்டுப்பாருங்கப்பு!)
தர்மம் எப்போவாவது தான் தூங்கும் தம்பிகளா. எப்பவுமே இல்லை.

சென்னை நகர் உரிமையை பொறுத்தவரை, அபிராமி ராமநாதன், சத்யம் சினிமாஸ், மற்றும் ஒரு அரசியல் வி.வி.ஐ.பி. யின் வாரிசு ஆகியோர் முயற்சித்து வருகிறார்கள். சென்னை நகர உரிமை 12 கோடி என்று நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது. அதற்க்கு மேல் போனாலும் ஆச்சரியமில்லை.
அபிராமி ராமநாதன் சிவாஜி உரிமையை 6.5 கோடி கொடுத்து வாங்கி கிட்டத்தட்ட இரு மடங்கு லாபம் பார்த்தார். லாபத்தை பற்றி வெளியே மூச்சு விடாதவர்கள் மத்தியில் அதை போஸ்டர் அடித்து வேறு ஒட்டி பகிரங்கப்படுத்தி சந்தோஷப்பட்டார் ராமநாதன். தற்போது எந்திரன் சென்னை உரிமையை வாங்க கடுமையாக முயற்சித்து வருகிறார். இவருடன் கூடவே போட்டியிடுவது சத்யம் சினிமாஸ். சத்யம் சினிமாஸில் எந்திரன் வருவது உறுதி என்றாலும், சென்னை நகர விநியோக உரிமை அவர்களுக்கு கிடைக்குமா என்பதை பொறுத்திருந்து பார்க்கவேண்டும். இவர்களை தவிர ஒரு அரசியல் வி.வி.ஐ.பி. யின் வாரிசும் சென்னை உரிமைக்கு முயற்சித்து வருவதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.
இதனிடையே சத்யம் திரையரங்கின் கார் பார்க்கிங்கின் அருகே, பிரம்மாண்ட எந்திரன் பேனர் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. மிகப்பெரிய பேனர் என்பதால், பக்கவாட்டிலிருந்து தான் ஃபோட்டோ எடுக்க முடிந்தது.
சென்னை நகரை பொறுத்தவரை புதிதாக கட்டப்பட்டுள்ள, எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் அவென்யூவில் எந்திரன் நிச்சயம் ரிலீசாகும் என்று தெரிகிறது. சத்யம் சினிமாஸ் அங்கு, ‘எஸ்கேப்’ என்று பெயரில் மல்டிப்லெக்சுகளை துவக்கியிருக்கிறது.
இது தவிர, பூந்தமல்லி நெடுஞ்சாலையில் உள்ள பி .வி.ஆர். சினிமாஸ், மற்றும் வில்லிவாக்கம் ராயல் ஏ.ஜி.எஸ். சினிமாஸ், அபிராமி மெகா மால், மாயாஜால், ஐநாக்ஸ், சங்கம் உள்ளிட்ட அனைத்து மல்டிப்லெக்ஸ்களிலும் எந்திரன் வெளியாகும் என்று தெரிகிறது.
சன் பிக்சர்சின் தலைமை செயல் அதிகாரி சக்சேனா சமீபத்தில் ஒரு விழாவில், பணப்பெட்டியோடு பல திரையரங்கு உரிமையாளர்கள் எந்திரனுக்காக காத்திருப்பதாகவும் சன் பிக்சர்சுடன் அவர்கள் தொடர்ந்து பேச்சு வார்த்தையில் ஈடுபட்டு வருவதாகவும் கூறியது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
ஏற்கனவே கர்நாடக உரிமை 9.75 கோடிகளும், கேரளா உரிமை 3.75, ஆந்திரம் 33 கோடிகளும் விற்பனையாகியிருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. அந்தந்த மாநிலங்களில் நேரடி படங்கள் கூட இந்த விலைக்கு விற்கப்பட்டதில்லை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. ஆந்திராவை பொறுத்தவரை டப்பிங் பட வரலாற்றில் ஒரு டப்பிங் படம் இந்தளவு விலை போனது முதல் முறையாகும்.
ஹிந்தி உரிமையை பொறுத்தவரை, அணில் அம்பானியின் ரிலையன்ஸ் பிக் பிக்சர்ஸ் கடுமையாக முயற்சித்து வருகிறது. கைட்ஸ், ராவணன் போன்ற படங்களை பெரும் விலை கொடுத்து வாங்கி சூடு போட்டு கொண்ட அந்நிறுவனம், எந்திரனை வாங்குவதன் மூலம் மேற்படி இழப்புக்களை சரிக்கட்ட முடியும் என்று நம்புகிறது. எனவே ஹிந்தி மற்றும் வட இந்திய உரிமை பிக் பிக்சர்ஸ் வசம் செல்ல வாய்ப்பிருக்கிறது. ஹிந்தி எந்திரன் உரிமை சுமார் 20 கோடி முதல் 30 கோடி வரை செல்ல வாய்ப்பிருக்கிறது.
வரும் ஆகஸ்ட் 31 ஆம் தேதிக்குள் அனைத்து பணிகளையும் நிறைவு செய்து, முதல் காப்பியை லேப்பில் (for multi-prints) ஒப்படைத்த பின்னர் தான் ரிலீஸ் தேதி குறித்து முடிவு செய்ய இயலும். அதிகபட்சம் ஒரு நாளைக்கு 40 பிரிண்ட்டுகள் தான் போடமுடியும் என்பதால், பிரிண்ட் போடும் பணி ஒன்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட லேப்புகளில் பிரித்து கொடுக்கப்படும் என்று தெரிகிறது.
சன் பிக்சர்ஸ் தலைமை செயல் அதிகாரி சக்சேனாவின் தகவல் படி 3000 பிரிண்ட்டுகளுடன் உலகம் முழுவதும் எந்திரன் ரிலீஸ் ஆகவிருக்கிறது. இந்தி, தமிழ், தெலுங்கு ஆகிய மூன்று மொழி பேசும் மக்கள் எங்கெல்லாம் இருக்கிறார்களோ அங்கெல்லாம் எந்திரன் ரிலீசாகும் என்று கூறுகிறார் சக்சேனா.

I also read a lot of articles in the bloggers world against Endhiran. The people who call themselves as 'Communists' and 'Social Activists' are using Endhiran purely to gain fame and attraction. Even for these idiots, thalaivar is required to increase their personal gains.
I always try to ignore stupids like these. However, sometimes, I feel that we need to respond to these people.
Just like this article of yours being a perfect answer to so called Universal Hero fans and 'Ilaya Thalavali' fans, I sincerely expect from you an article with full of fire and emotion to reply to the false communists in the world of web.

the sole reason behind this is none other than our magical superstar himself.box office records are a spike of dust for him , he has the knack of breaking his records he has proved again and again that he is the box office baasha. even before a channel called sun tv rose up our superstars broke the box office records of his previous movies and subsequently breaking the records of his own movies.(manidhan, panakaran,ejaman,dharmadurai,veera etc).even before the arrival of satellite channels and fms our thalapathy had huge coverage in the media.even before the music master arr's arrival our superstars baasha achieved platinum disc.our aim is not to demean the achievements of such stalwarts ,but nobody should underestimate the role of thalaivar .may be because of humility our thalaivar underplays his role in enthiran,but without him enthiran could not have happened .people who blabber without knowing history ,panakaran,dharmadurai,baasha,muthu,arunachalam,padayaapa,shivaji..the series of box office hits rained money for all of them exceeding the trade expectations.thalaivar without knowing his strength used to get just 50l as salary where he could have got 5 crores.people who couldnt buy his films ,get second release rights and earned good money .the so called world actor - even he doesnt know the world market, it was our thalaivar who created the furore in the world market for tamil cinemas.now others are treading in that way with ease, in tamil cinema its our thalaivar who showed that there is an area called FMS. the so called flops of superstars films fetched more than any superhit film of the times.you can confirm this with any theater owner who speaks truth.

as far as chennai rights are concerned there is atough fight between abirami ramanathan,sathyam cinemas and a political vvip's son is going on.it has been fixed 12 crores for chennai rights chances of rate increase is also possible.abirami ramanathan bought sivaji rights for 6.5 crores and he got a huge profit ,nearly twice the money invested .when people dont tell openly the profit, he pasted posters all arround the city and shared the happiness .he is fighting hard to get the rights, sathyam cinemas and one other important political vvip's son is also fighting hard to bag the rights.meanwhile there is ahuge banner erected at sathyam cinemas car parking area .as far as chennai is concerned , the newly built expreess highway mall will have enthiran release as sathyam is planning to open multiplex there in the name of escape.apart from this, pvr,villivakam royal, maayajaal,inox,abirami ,sangam will release enthiran for sure.in a recent interview sun pics saxena told that there is ahuge competition among theater owners and they are continuously negotiating with sun pic authorities .already enthiran rights have been sold for 9.75 cr in karnataka,,33 cr in ap and 3.75 cr in kerala.even direct films from the state have not fetched such revenue there, as far as ap- this is the highest for dubbing films.in hindi- anil ambani's big pic are trying to bag the rights , they are planning to equalise the loss they acquired through the kites and raavan through enthiran.the price may be anything from 20-30 cr.the plan is to finish all the works by aug 31 and give the master copy for printing maximum only 40 prints are possible in a day hence the help of multiple are going to be sought, the release date will be decided only after this.according to saxena enthiran will release world wide in three languages with a record 3000 prints at all places where these 3 languages are spoken.praying god that enthiran breaks all the previous records and set a new bench mark.

Adhisayam Annal Unmai regards to collections. Without premiere directors,without premiere music directors (except Ilaiyaraja) Superstar created records after records. And every sincere human will agree to this. My friends who were neutral fans turned to be rajini fans for reason that Superstar is unbeatable no matter what. It might be a profit for the producers but for the distributors ? when baba was released fans were telling that all we need is rajni in the screen for 2.5 hours that enough but wat happened. You are saying baba was a hit yes may be but the amount it was sold for is not right and the way rajni and his wife acted to reap money by announcing audio cassettes , banning on using his image for selling.
if you guys really think that he can create magic in the box office why dont he help small time producers? there are few who are not in good condition who used to produce his films… dont just sat balachandar and s.p.muthuraman as example.
my intention is not to irritate u and other fans or to insult rajnikanth's popularity but lets be realistic.
i agree that he is the box office king but the amount of money the producers are selling makes them rich but there are few distributors who is bearing the loss. yes its business profit and loss are common but it could have been done better

Thanks for visiting our site. I do not think that Sundar has said that Dasavatharam was a flop. It was a hit. But, breaking Sivaji's record? No way!
You gave a extract from somewhere in which a person was mentioning about loss incurred due to Sivaji. Even he just mentions that "buyers lost money". That is just a hearsay. Ok … let us take his comment into account. Do you know how many exhibitors and distributors were telling that they lost money due to Baba? What happened? After some years, they themselves mentioned that "Baba was actually a hit" ! If you want the proof, I think Sundar will be having the related materials.
We all know how business people try to hide their actual income to avoid taxes. So, if 1-2 people cry that they incurred loss, we can certainly ignore that. What we should observe is that, even at the risk of falling under the Income Tax Dept.'s scanner there are so many people who claim that they have earned record profit from Superstar's movies! This shows the true power of the box-office collections.
You mentioned in your comment that "ask your hero to give movie every year". Kanna, what matters is quality, not quantity!
Also, you quoted "Exhibitors need films to run in their theatres since hundreds of small families thrive on them". Hahaha. There is nothing free in this world. No exhibitor will run a movie for a loss for other's sake.
In today's film industry there is no shortage of films to be exhibited. Even, Hollywood movies are capturing B and C centres via dubbing route. So, they do not have to buy a Superstar movie at a very high price just to ensure that some movie is exhibited in their theaters. They give that amount, because they feel that they can recover their investment.
For you information, I admire Kamal's movies also. Anbe Sivam is one of my fav movies, I would love to watch MMKR anyday.

I dont know what to type when it comes to record collections of rajnikanth. as u said, I know that most of the current generation people are completely unaware about his films and also they are lack of tamil film knowledge. by seeing four songs of their actors they are telling that the films are hit.
they even dont know what is a hit movie and how it looks like. because nowadays films are not produced with that much quality and content, except a few. truth is this: rajinikanth old movies are watched by all in television, but none dare to go to theatres for the new movies acted by other actors. their films are just coming and going. I am in pondicherry, I watched people of very old age in theatres for the first time and also the physically challenged are present before the screen at the time of sivaji release. I have never any such a powerful crowd puller other than him. others speak, but they dont, even they cant, it is the truth.
but the most wanted person on the silver screen is always rajini and none is going to create the magic on silver screen like he does. himalayas is the tallest mountain in the world because it is growing every year. likewise our superstar is always growing and their poor comments are completely unaware of his height and power. So I forgive them.
This is for rajaram for questioning abt hindi shivaji - same yardstick - wat abt hindi 10 avatars- no theatres released in the north . Reasons for you have to change your thinking about our thalaivar movies success and others(urs) Dubakur star’s film Failures:
1) He is the epitome of the humbleness – Even though our Demi-god are saying that for all of his victory is because of the others involved in his every projects. He won’t even forget to thank right from the heart of the movie – Directors, Musicians to the down the line – light boys, food serving people like that.
But did any Dubakar actors have appreciated everybody for all their successful films – for example – ur dubakur actor said in Vijay tv awards – at least now itself people are realizing his film(Anbae Sivam) and appreciating – “Matthavangala Paratturathum Kidayathu, adhukkum mela, Tharperumai vera unga ego tharkuri thalaivannukku”
2) He is the great trendsetter – for ex. Before his entry into the Tamil Cinema – heros must look like fair and handsome, good voice and etc. Rajni is the first who changed all this and succeed in the past, present and going to suceess in the future also. (“kanna success – means that more than 80% of the particular actor’s movies should succeed – nee vera unga thalaivanukku irukkrathu pola etho oru filma success anna successnnu ninaichida pora – enna ok va???)
3) He is the man of unique – for ex. Our thalaivar is the only man who can attract the people who doesn’t even know our language still they love our magic man – THE BOSS. And have you ever heard of at least your Thalaivar film is getting released out of the world. You might/might not be, but >90% of Indians who doesn’t know.
6) He is the man who is having & respecting GREAT FAN BASE and also can change their -ves to +ves: only our thalaivar is having more than 35,000fan clubs I think and it would have become more if our hero would not have stopped the registration of opening new fan clubs. Otherwise we would be the Top most position in having the clubs for GREAT ACTOR. And more over, we are also like him. Like whatever the good character he possess, we also and we have to. What happened to Aaskaar Ravichandran. After Dasavatharam he even struggled to release Varanam Aayiram with huge deficit as said by Dhayanidhi Alagiri in a TV interview. Before Dasvatharam he was one of the leading producer ,distributor and exhibitor. After Dasavatharam for almost two years he was in dark, has not even started single production. Only now he is starting again from scratch. If you still beleive Dasavatharam is a blockbuster I am pity for you. The producer has to say that.
Even Ravikumar directed film Aadhavan,they comapared the collection record with Sivaji and not Dasavatharam.

But for Ramadoss he could have produced more movies and helped others. He has stpped producing movies from BABA.

Sivaji..Why Kalaignar tv telecasted dasavatharam in jus 1 year…Both the movies bought by kalaignar tv only..but Sivaji yet to be telecasted even after 3 years….This will show the reach and HIT of both movies…For audio itself Dasa producer called CM, Jacki chan and made it as grand function, why dint he think abt atleast 50th day celebration…If you have really 6th sense then think abt it..Rajini films will be Mega HIT even if it is 3rd..4th….,or 100th release at theaters….So better shut ur mouth..if you want a Rajini movie to compare with dasavatharam..then go ahead with Kuselan and compare the records..That too Thalaivar jus did guest role. So dont even think abt comparing Dasa with Sivaji..You cant even beat the 4th/5th release of Sivaji with Dasa…In fact comparing the collection record with Kamal movies itself a degrade for Rajini movies.

1. Why only KH movie producers die out of heart-attack after producing his movies (Andha oru nimidam - Major sundarrajan) or try to commit suicide (Vettayaadu Vilayaadu - Original producer Kaja Moideen - fortunately he was saved).
2. Why can't even a risk-taking producer of a KH movie (Pyramid saimeera) is made to abandon their project mid-way (Marmayogi).
3. Why KH have to dupe a producer (Pyramid Saimeera) by getting advance of Rs. 10 crore but subsequently not return it saying that was his fees and use that amount to produce a cottage industry movie like UPO.
4. Why KH doesn't have the guts to release his movie UPO as per original August, 2009, release date fearing about loss against a Vikram movie "Kandasamy" (Eppidi Irundha unga aalu ippidi aayittaare?)
5. Why, if your so-called actor's all movies are highest grossers, the film industry protocol is always Rajini-Kamal rather than Kamal-Rajini, which was how in the 70s & early 80s it used to be? (Even then it was based purely on seniority, mind you, not on BO parameter).
6. Why, in the pecking order of star salaries, only Rajini's name is being talked about, even in Bollywood & North Indian channells, whereas your so-called "Sivaji-collections beating" Bussaavataram actor's name is nowhere to be seen?
7. Why, Robot, which was originally conceived with your so-called actor KH in mind, was dropped due to budget constraints because no producer is willing to come forward to produce the movie with KH as the hero?
8. If, as you seem to delude yourself that your Bussaavataram has collected more than Sivaji, why even now, Shankar or any producer is not willing to take Robot with KH as the lead?
9. Why, even his own dream projects like Marudanayagam or its new avatar Marmayogi, is still not able to move forward and nobody is willing to invest in them, if your so-called actor's movies are better grossers than Rajini's?
10. First, ask your actor to beat collections pf Rajini movies of 90s (like Annamalai, Badshah, Muthu & Padayappa). Then let him start dreaming of beating the collections of Rajini's 21st Century movies.
11. Last but not the least, will your actor's today's market be equal at least to second-rung heroes of Kollywood, based on collections?
Even to compete with Rajini and his movies, your so-called actor KH, has to first qualify by beating the likes of Vijay, Ajit, Surya, Vikram & others. Then, only then, you can even say, KH is the only actor to try to compete with Rajini, who is in a different & bigger league of his own.

Please understand the difference between collection at theatres and the loss incurred by distributors.If a few distributor incurs a loss it is common in business.We can't declare a movie as a flop if it has not met the expected collection in a place like andipatty or pennagaram.Just ask the theatre owners the difference in collection between a superstar movie and your self proclaimed uzhaga nayagan's movie.
Don't argue without any substance.It simply shows your ignorance about the market.Comparing "avatharam" with "Sivaji" is like comparing Tendulkar with Virat Kohli in cricket.
You have referred here a statement made by a distributor in Rayalaseema.First go and ask whether your self proclaimed world actor has a market there in the 1st place.
As Sundar rightly pointed out why Oscar Ravichandran who is known to boast about his movies has not arranged any function to appreciate the performance of Dasavatharam.

3. சின்னத்தம்பி T.K. ஏரியாவில், 3 பிரின்ட் நெல்லை-அருணகிரி, நாகர்கோவில்-சுவாமி, தென்காசி-பத்மம் திரையரங்குகளில் 175 நாட்களுக்கு மேல் ஓடி வெள்ளி விழா கண்டது. இன்று வரை வேறு எந்த படமும் T.K. ஏரியாவில்3 ப்ரின்ட் வெள்ளி விழா ஓடவில்லை (ஒரு பிரிண்டுக்கு மேல் -ஷிப்டிங் இல்லாமல் எந்த படமும் இதுவரை ஓடவில்லை)

1999 லிருந்து எந்திரன் வரையில் 6 படங்கள்தான் தந்திருக்கிறார். ஆனால் இதற்கிடையில் எத்தனை எட்டப்பன் வேலைகள் அவருக்கு எதிராக.

குசேலன் சமயத்திலே நடந்த கவிழ்ப்பு வேலை எங்களுக்கு தெரியும். ரஜினியை கவிழ்த்து விட ஒரு கும்பல் வேலை பார்த்து கொண்டிருக்கிறது இப்போதும் கூட. ஆனால் மக்கள் செல்வாக்கு ஒவ்வொரு படத்துக்கும் ஏறிக்கொண்டுதானிருக்கிறது.
இவ்வளவையும் மீறி இன்றளவும் மன்னனாக திகழ்கிறார் ரஜினி மக்கள் மனங்களிலே. வேறு யாராவது அவரிடத்திலே இருந்தால் மூலையிலே முடங்கி இருப்பார்கள்.

Who is the biggest Superstar in India? …. Grow Up!
Sivaji is coming on Friday, but not without company and the one giving Sivaji company is no spring chicken. But we are just getting the feeling that ‘The Boss’ might well make it look like a spring chicken. Sivaji has competition at the box office! We know that the statement sounds a bit out of place but then without some yardstick against which to measure we really cannot sum up how big Sivaji is. After all we are more overawed by a mountain when we see how big it is compared to a molehill. (no disrespect intended).
How huge is Sivaji? We will give you an idea and you will understand that we will have to coin new words like ‘Rajnikanthic’ and ‘Superstarial’ (try making better ones yourself) to describe the actual proportions that Sivaji is taking as the clock counts down to the grand opening.
First, let us give you an idea of how big the competition to Sivaji is and how relatively small it is in the face of Superstar. Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom might be a film from Bollywood but it is a big draw even in the south, especially in Chennai multiplexes. With stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Preity Zinta and above all the Big B in a never before seen avatar, Jhoom Baraabar is one of the most expected films of the year. Also don’t forget that the film is from the Yashraj factory which is the best in the business when it comes to marketing films and hyping them.
From reliable sources we have come to know that Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom, which also opens on Friday, has had very healthy advance bookings; the first three days have been sold out, among the best responses that a Hindi movie has received in Chennai. Compare this with Sivaji, three weeks sold out according to latest reports and still counting. But that is normal you would say, Sivaji is anyway expected to run over Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom in the south. Then take this.
If you have the time and patience to watch any of the national news channels you will find out that Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom does not feature even remotely on their agenda. They seem to be well and truly obsessed with the Superstar phenomenon. Reporters stationed almost at every theater in Chennai reporting the latest statistics, interviewing fans who are in a frenzied state. All the big channels (NDTV, IBNLIVE, Headlines Today to name a few) are making the most of this wave, increasing their viewership down south and also signing off with the question ; what makes this man the SUPERSTAR, almost the GOD for his fans? What is so special in him? Is he the biggest Superstar in India? All those channels that had at the same time around two months been going ‘ga ga’ over Ta Ra Rum Pum now seem to have forgotten Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom. The Sun is at the horizon and it is time for stars to hide.
We will leave you with another interesting bit. A prominent mobile operator has started offering free tickets for Sivaji’s 100th day function if you take part in a contest. Some of you may have already received the messages. With people getting ready for the 100th day celebrations even before a movie releases, you know that it cannot get bigger.
Finally, it has been predicted that the south India grossing of Sivaji will beat the all India grossing of JBJ and we are not counting the income from Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China (the film may be dubbed into Chinese) and other parts of the world. There used to be a belief that Bollywood is the biggest film industry in India. What do you say now?

You can able to compare the films like DM, Indian, AS, and Dasavatharam with our films. Let me share my thoughts with data’s. Devar Magan considered as super hit but it celebrated 100 days in 10 theaters only in TN but where as our film PANDIYAN which released with DM ran 84 days in 12 centers across the Tamil nadu. The B & C center collections which surpassed DM during that time. The film did roar collections in 2nd release. Let come to Indian. Yes definitely it was super hit film and celebrated 100 days in 30 centers (highest centers in kamal's carrier and after that he couldn't compete with us in any of his movies) Our film Arunachalam which released after Indian ran 100 days in 38 centers it means Arunachalam broken the all time records Indian. Added to that Kamal was one of the distributor for Arunachalam yes he bought the Kerala area and received a shield on the hands of our Thalaivar (ithu oru pozappu) Avvai Shanmugi till 50 days the film was running in many centers and they projected bid paper ad for 50th day but after that the film could not able to sustained in theaters that too in many of B & C centers. During 100 the day your producer can't able to give the theater centers instead of that our hero shown with your hero.
Finally Dasavatharam. Let me ask one question. You guys are telling that DM was super hit. Can you able to release and list the records in a book. But we did it and we were listed a gigantic hit and records details as special sovergiener for SHIVAJI. All over the world 120 theaters ran 100 days but DM ran 100 days only in 12 theaters of TN. In tollywoood 2007 only one film ran 100 days in 13 theaters that are shivaji. Whereas DM ran only 50 days in Telugu after that the movie has been removed from all theaters. In Hindi it ran only 7 days whereas our film shivaji (Tamil version) itself ran 100 days in across north like Delhi, Bombay areas. This is just sample. You will see the main picture with Endiran box office results.

Mayajaal, the 10- screen multiplex on ECR near Chennai city is emerging as one of the biggest entertainment hubs in India.
The weekend box-office at the multiplex is huge, due to the large number of IT firms in and around OMR and ECR. Moreover, the cash rich businessmen, film personalities and expats live in this area.
Last week Mayajaal created a world record when it screened 48 shows of Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam in its 10 screens per day during the weekend. It is a world record as no other multiplex in the world has screened so many shows of a single film a day.
The total net for Dasavatharam for three days (June 13 to 15), from 144 shows is a whopping Rs 26,74,000. The highest ever net for any film at Mayajaal, for the opening weekend.

1. After Alavandan release Dhanu gave interview that (Alavandan ennai alika vandan). I believe that was in Kumudam.
2. Producer Ascar(Ex-Oscar) Ravichandran who was famous producer who used to release atleast 8 - 10 movies per year. He released Dasvatharam which you claim that it beat Sivaji. And you showing some Gapsawoods records. After Dasavatharam release i guess he released only one movie and that too which has signed before Dasavatharam. After super success of Dasavatharam (as per your comment) not sure where that producer is. He looks like now Ex-Producer and trying hard to come back to field.

KH has more records like this. அந்த கதைய சொன்னா நாரி போயுடும்.
Kalaignar TV is still holding on "Sivaji -The boss " to telecast since the value and expectation of viewing the film is higher than any other film .The less valued movies like moonaar,Dasvathaaram,panchaamirtham etc. telecasted within few months from their release .This clearly indicates that even ten avatars can not compete to one great avatar the SUPER STAR avatar . There were few questions here asked by some of us. I will just reiterate some of them:
1. When was the grand success party for 10A?
2. Enthiran (Robot) was conceived for Mr. Kamal. There was even a photoshoot held. Why did it not take off?
3. Infact, when the Robot with KH did not take off, Superstar was approached at that time itself. (Sundar please share that paper cutting news of Boys audio/movie launch). It was Superstar who rejected it saying that the movie was very risky as the budget at that time was estimated to be Rs 50 crore.
4. When is the shooting for Marmayogi going to start?

Rajnikanth's Kuselan, which released on August 1, got a lukewarm response, to put it politely.
The crowds may be present but not in numbers that you would expect from a Rajnikanth [Images] film. Die-hard fans and Rajni loyalists have not let down their hero but people have not come in droves either.
A representative from Pyriamid Saimira, which distributed Kuselan [Images], admits that the film has not broken even yet. But they are optimistic that it will pick up. "The Malayalam movie, on which this is based, picked up only in the third week. We hope it happens here too," he said.
He added that the film was doing steady business during the week and good business during the weekends. "But it is not as big a hit as Sivaji: The Boss." It is doing reasonable well in the cities but badly in the rural areas.
The film is 'doing okay' in the United States and Malaysia, where Pyramid released the movie directly. Since they have sold the movie rights to the other parts of the world, they could not tell us how it's faring in other places.
"The fans have come. But to make it a hit, the families have to come. We hope that it will pick up in the next week," the representative said.

At number two is the all India super hit Akshay Kumar's Singh is Kinng, grossing a record (for a Hindi film) Rs 32 lakhs playing in six large Chennai screens. In the third position is Mummy-3, which carries mixed reports. Subramaniapuram, which is now playing in seven screens is at number four.

If YOU ARE RIGHT why Rajini is the highest paid actor in India , Why should the producers pay an actor a huge sum if they are not going to get the returns back. I remember one Rajaram , pretending as MGR fan there , creating ruckus few months back in Nadigar Thilakam Sivaji thread in THE HUB.
He used to deny every truth presented before him and continue his argument on flawed logic. He won't give any supporting evidence to his arguments, but ask others to prove every word of theirs with supporting evidence.
If this Rajaram is the same gentleman, then there is no point in arguing with him, since the only language he speaks is "VITHANDA VATHAM" . Please ignore him.
The whole world including neutral fans like me know that Kamal lost to Rajini in the race to super stardom at least 25 years back.
Post year 2000 many of his movies (e.g Hey Ram, Virumandi, Mumbai express etc) do not get house full on the opening show ( 1st day 1st show) in many smaller towns like Pollachi.
Kamal's latest movie Unnaipol oruvan , didn't have a 50 day print anywhere in Tamil nadu.

If you see only box office collections, an international star like Stallone's or Will Smith's or James Cameroon's movie will do 30-40 times the business of an Indian movie. When compared to that a Sivaji or Dasavatharam is very miniscule.
So, what are you trying to establish - are you trying to establish that Kamal is a bigger box office star than Rajinikanth ? Then all I can say is - you are wasting your time.

I and I am sure many others like me here, are not a fan of only Rajini the actor. We are fans of Rajini the personality and the human being. He has been a motivation for all of us. And this is what makes him special to us. What we have with him is a bond that is beyond mere cinema and stardom. He is like a virtual guru to us, who has taught us how to be simple, humble and happy by virtue of living his life that way.
To us, his external appearance does not matter.
To us, his lack of eloquent speaking skills is not a problem.
To us, his formula based movies is only a source of entertainment.
All that matters to me, and many other people like me are nothing but the way he has lived his life. And the motivation he can provide to millions of people who struggle to find happiness.
According to me, let us forget everything else.
I am born in this earth. I want to live till I die. During this period, the only thing that I want is to be happy and make others happy. There are hundreds of people around the world who supposedly teach others how to live a satisfied and happy life.
and to me.. that is what Rajini is all about. He is a personification of leading a happy, contended, peaceful life. And this teaching that he is showing his millions of followers is what makes him unique.
Now, if you want to argue more - please do so - if you think that is what will make you happy.
But, whatever you say, will not lead to a single follower of Rajini changing their minds. Because
- they are not liking him for his box office records,
- they are not loving him for his screen presence,
- they dont like him for his political ambitions
- they are not fans of a special talent like acting….

Vijay Vasu summarized it well. We are fans of Rajini for the way he is leading is life more than for his Superstar image. He motivates people from all walks of life.

I guess it should be 86 after that they never made any movie. But AVM did three movies after this 86. A) Raja chinna Roja B) Yejaman C) Sivaji.
Kavithalaya : Unnal Mudiyum thambi. After this they didn't take any movie wiht KH. But the same took A) Annamalai B) Muthu & C) Kuselan
Sathya Movies : I guess they took finally kadhal parisu after that movies. But they took two movies with super star A) panakkaran B) Baasha and unconfirmed report says they might do the next super star movie.
The above productions are few and all did hit with KH in 80's but in 90's things turned and everyone knows the caliber of KH so they don't want to do movies again and not to take any risk.

We agree Adhiyasappiravi( Ramanathan), Nattuku oru nallavan and kuselan( Guest role) were flop. Only 3 or 4 films in last 15 years or so. You have questioned about Veerasamy. I pity you. Kaanada superstar Ravichandran is the son of Veera samy. Nattuku oru nallavan film was produced by him to boost his son in Tamil films. It mis fired was altogether different story. If Rajini gives green signal Ramanathan and Ravichandran will be the first persons to produce his movie.

I guess you are lost your sense completely. You know KH is in the field only because of our lovable thalaivar. Everywhere in news he just comes like Rajni, Kamal. It was like in early 70's when MGR and Sivaji was acting it happened the same. MGR had a solid fan base. Sivaji was only second. Once MGR retired from cine industry and entered politics automatically that generation news actors started (Thalaivar, KH) dominating the field in 70's end and rest of the period. And the same cycle is happening right now. Even though KH is not having any hits these days he just stays because of thalaivar. Once at the time when Thalaivar announces his retirement from cine field (which we really don't want to hear) then we have to search KH. Already the new generation actors always talk about only thalaivar and no one really talk about KH. They will talk about KH only when KH attends that function.
Oru chinna bit information from my experience:
Nammavar movie was released (second release) in Melody. Me and my friends thought of checking who is watching that movie because that movie didn't get full house in albert on its opening release day. So we total 5 went to Melody and there was painting work going on the counter was open. Myself and my friend entered the countered and asked for 5 tickets. He told that if minmum 10-15 then he can issue ticket and I checked the ticket guy and he told this was scene happening throught that week. But good thing they did was they painted the hall and changes few damaged seats as there is no one there. They officially didn't close the theater but did the renovation for that week. Ipadi oru sathanai only KH can do.

But even then Rajini was undisputed king in A,B and C centers But kamal was way behind in B and C centers. There were other actors behind thalaivar at different times. Actors like Ramarajan, Rajkiran, Vijayakanth were few among them. B and C centers were gold mine for the distribtors. That is why MGR was called Vasool chakravarthy in 60's though Sivaji Movies were run well in A centers. I know some of Kamal's successful films like Moonaram Pirai, Sigappu Rojakkal ran only 3 to 4 days in B and C centers. If you chck with distributors they tell how they mint money in second releases of MGR and Rajini movies and few Sivaji.
Any given time Rajini movies fetched higher prices and theater owners were ready to pay any amount to screen the movie in their screens. No other actors have that command in Tamil film world. This is the fact. His films set bench Mark in prices.every time. In Hosur City ( TN Border) Sivaji released first time in 3 theaters in Raghavendra(3 weeks), balaji (50 days) and Manjunatha (more than 100 days). First movie run 100 days. Dasavatharam released in two screens in Srinivasa(2 weeks) ans Balaji ( just 50 days)
After baasha Rajini has moved to a different league and entire industry is buoyant at the time his film release and every other producer postponing the release of their films.

Rajini is the only actor in Tamil Industry who is the Box office king in all A,B and C centers.

குருவிக்கு பயந்த ராஜா?
நாட்டுக்கே ராஜா ஒரு நாள் காட்டு வழியே போய்கிட்டு இருந்தாராம். அப்போ அங்கே மரத்துல இருந்த குருவி ஒன்னு
அவர்கிட்டே, "ராஜா ராஜா என்கிட்டே ஒரு நாலணா இருக்கு. அதை உங்களுக்கு கிஃப்டா தர்ரேன். வாங்கிக்கிறீங்களா? நான் ரொம்ப சந்தோஷப்படுவேன்…" ன்னு சொல்லிச்சு. சரி, சின்ன குருவி ஆசைப்படுதுன்னு சொல்லி, அதை ராஜா வாங்கிகிட்டாராம்.

Sivaji completed silver jubilee in PVR one of the costliest theatres in Bangalore. Kuselan released and washed Dasavatharam in every theatre in Bangalore. Dasa didnt complete 100 days in Blore. Stop with all this crap and show paper ad proofs and solid proofs like published in this website. And also a recent program in Headline Today compared Superstar with Amitabh and declared Superstar as the biggest star in India. Looks like you KH fans are jealous and scared of Enthiran. And there is no sleep after Endhiran also coz Sultan is on his way next. First animation movie on a star. What next?
